Under the directives of HH Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Vice President and Prime Minister of the UAE and Ruler of Dubai, and the patronage of HH Sheikh Ahmed bin Saeed Al Maktoum, Chairman of the Dubai Supreme Council of Energy, Dubai Electricity and Water Authority (DEWA) is organising the 28th edition of the Water, Energy, Technology and Environment Exhibition (WETEX) from 20 to 22 October 2026 at Dubai World Trade Centre.

The Green Mobility Hall, one of the key attractions of WETEX, will return for its third consecutive year, showcasing the future of sustainable transport. The hall will highlight the latest innovations and technologies shaping sustainable mobility solutions across land, sea and air, for both individual and public transport, reinforcing WETEX’s role in advancing smart, future-ready infrastructure while promoting safe, sustainable and efficient mobility amid the rapid adoption of environmentally friendly vehicles.

Government and semi-government entities, private-sector organisations and academic and research institutions from around the world will exchange knowledge and forge partnerships to drive innovation across the transport sector, enhance user experience, reduce costs and optimise energy and resource use.

“In line with the UAE’s efforts to achieve net zero by 2050, as well as the objectives of the Dubai Green Mobility Strategy 2030 and the Dubai Net Zero Carbon Emissions Strategy 2050, WETEX is committed to supporting the sustainability of our cities and communities while advancing our global ambitions and contributing to a greener and more sustainable future for generations to come. The Green Mobility Hall helps drive the adoption and development of global solutions, practices and initiatives aimed at reducing emissions in the transport sector and shaping the future of green mobility by leveraging the latest technologies in artificial intelligence, hydrogen and low or zero-carbon fuels,” said HE Saeed Mohammed Al Tayer, MD & CEO of DEWA and Founder and Chairman of WETEX.

The UAE has reinforced its position as a leading regional hub for the transition towards sustainable mobility after emerging as the Middle East’s top market for electric vehicle (EV) sales for the second consecutive year, according to the International Energy Agency’s Global EV Outlook 2026 report. The report found that the UAE accounted for nearly 50% of all EV sales across the region, reflecting the country’s accelerating shift toward green mobility and strengthening its competitiveness in future technologies.

The Green Mobility Hall at WETEX 2026 will feature the participation of leading local and international entities, institutions and companies, including:

DEWA supports Dubai’s leadership in sustainable transformation through its EV Green Charger initiative, launched in 2015. The initiative strengthens Dubai’s world-class infrastructure and aims to encourage the ownership and use of electric and hybrid vehicles. By the end of the third quarter of 2026, the EV Green Charger network had 2,826 charging points across Dubai, including stations licensed by DEWA in collaboration with government and private-sector entities.
