Held under the directives of HH Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Vice President and Prime Minister of the UAE and Ruler of Dubai, and the patronage of HH Sheikh Ahmed bin Saeed Al Maktoum, Chairman of the Dubai Supreme Council of Energy, the 28th edition of the Water, Energy, Technology and Environment Exhibition (WETEX) will take place from 20 to 22 October 2026 at the Dubai World Trade Centre. The exhibition is organised by Dubai Electricity and Water Authority (DEWA).
Germany’s international pavilion will bring together 20 specialised companies, many of them long-standing exhibitors, to showcase cutting-edge products and innovations that reduce emissions, protect the environment and boost operational efficiency across sectors such as conventional and renewable energy, water, low-carbon hydrogen, environmental sustainability, automation, software, artificial intelligence (AI) and smart metering.
“The annual participation of German companies in WETEX reflects the exhibition’s role in showcasing the latest technological developments and shaping discussions on key trends in energy, water, resource conservation and environmental sustainability. It also reflects WETEX’s global standing as an important platform that supports German companies as they expand their reach across regional markets. The exhibition contributes to strengthening the advanced economic relations and strategic partnership between the UAE and Germany, particularly in climate work and vital and future-oriented sectors, serving the shared interests of both countries and enhancing their efforts to ensure a more resilient and sustainable future, at a time when bilateral collaboration increasingly focuses on integrated value chains,” said HE Saeed Mohammed Al Tayer, MD & CEO of DEWA and Founder and Chairman of WETEX.
HE Dr Tobias Tunkel, Germany’s Ambassador to the UAE, said: “As the UAE prepares to co-host this year’s landmark UN Water Conference in Abu Dhabi, the urgency for global resource resilience has never been more vital. Following the historic state visit to Germany, our bilateral partnership has reached a decisive milestone. The groundbreaking agreement between the German Water Partnership and the Mohamed bin Zayed Water Initiative to co-develop smart water innovations perfectly embodies this spirit of collaboration. We are proud that the German companies showcasing here at WETEX are leading the charge – translating political momentum into practical industrial reality and building a powerful bridge between pioneering technology, sustainable water management and international cooperation.”
German exports to the UAE increased from EUR 8.6 billion in 2023 to EUR 11.39 billion in 2025. Meanwhile, German imports from the UAE stood at about EUR 1.87 billion in 2025.
During the exhibition, ZENNER Middle East will showcase its latest innovations and solutions in smart metering and smart billing, in addition to solutions based on the Internet of Things (IoT), AI and data analytics, with a focus on smart cities and smart services. Wilo Middle East will highlight its smart pump products and water management solutions, while Carbomax will showcase its activated carbon-based innovations, which can be applied across numerous sectors, including energy, water treatment, oil and gas, cement and steel.
