27 Sep 2025

Under the directives of HH Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Vice President and Prime Minister of the UAE and Ruler of Dubai, and the patronage of HH Sheikh Ahmed bin Saeed Al Maktoum, Chairman of the Dubai Supreme Council of Energy, Dubai Electricity and Water Authority (DEWA) will convene the 27th edition of Water, Energy, Technology and Environment Exhibition (WETEX) from 30 September to 2 October 2025 at the Dubai World Trade Centre,

The Health and Safety Hub at WETEX 2025 serves as a dynamic platform for advancing health, safety and well-being through innovation, education and collaboration. It brings together leading government entities, UAE universities and global experts to present solutions that support societal well-being, overall quality of life and workplace safety in in line with the highest international standards.

The hub features a high-level conference that engages senior executives in discussions on emerging trends and the role of artificial intelligence (AI) in shaping safer environments across various settings, including schools. It also includes interactive zones and activities – such as the Think Safe Challenge, the Play Smart Challenge and the Safety Capsule Quiz – to engage visitors, especially the youth, in activities that promote physical and mental wellness.

“The event champions the use of innovation and technology to develop pioneering solutions that enhance well-being. For the second consecutive year, the WETEX Health and Safety Hub has served as a vital platform, connecting specialists, individuals, companies, academic and research institutions, innovators, investors and young people. Together, they work to create technologies and practices that address emerging needs, confront current challenges and pave the way towards a more prosperous future for humanity,” said HE Saeed Mohammed Al Tayer, MD & CEO of DEWA and Founder and Chairman of WETEX.

“The hub also supports public health, which faces increasing threats from climate change. This comes in line with the National Strategy for Wellbeing 2031 and the UN Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) 2030, including Goal 3 on good health and well-being. The success of the Health and Safety Hub underscores the growing role of WETEX as an ideal global platform for innovation that will have a positive impact – not only in energy, water and sustainable cities, but also across various critical sectors that shape a healthier, more resilient future,” added Al Tayer.

One of the key participants in the Health and Safety Hub is the Higher Colleges of Technology, which brings valuable academic insight and collaborative expertise to the initiative.

“WETEX 2025 stands as a global platform that brings together leaders and innovators to highlight the latest advancements in sustainability and green mobility, underscoring the UAE’s steadfast commitment to leading the transition towards a low-carbon economy. In alignment with the national vision, the Higher Colleges of Technology is focused on equipping Emirati talent with cutting-edge expertise in artificial intelligence, clean energy and sustainable transport. By empowering a new generation of innovators to spearhead this transformation and develop practical, future-ready solutions, we contribute to enhancing the UAE’s competitiveness and reinforcing its position as a global leader in sustainability,” said HE Dr Faisal Al Ayyan, President & CEO of the Higher Colleges of Technology.
