WETEX 2025 celebrates record participation as it reinforces Dubai’s clean energy leadership

- Exhibition was an unprecedented success, featuring 3,100 exhibitors and 18 international pavilions
Dubai, UAE, 4 October 2025: Under the directives of HH Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Vice President and Prime Minister of the UAE and Ruler of Dubai, and the patronage of HH Sheikh Ahmed bin Saeed Al Maktoum, Chairman of the Dubai Supreme Council of Energy, Dubai Electricity and Water Authority (DEWA), organises the Water, Energy, Technology and Environment Exhibition (WETEX) annually. It is the region’s largest and one of the world’s leading specialised exhibitions for water, energy, green development, sustainability, decarbonisation, green mobility, sustainable cities and other related sectors.
The 27th edition of WETEX achieved remarkable success with the participation of 3,100 exhibitors and more than 50,000 visitors from around the world. The exhibition, which covered an area of 95,000 square metres hosted 18 international pavilions and attracted 68 sponsors and 18 supporting organisations and associations.
Honouring WETEX sponsors and partners
HE Saeed Mohammed Al Tayer, MD and CEO of DEWA, honoured the sponsors and partners of WETEX 2025, in recognition of their efforts in supporting sustainability and accelerating the transition to a green economy, commending their role in its success. He noted that the participation of thousands of companies and organisations from around the world reaffirms Dubai’s strong commitment to providing an attractive and integrated business environment that enables partners and investors to explore innovative solutions in renewable and clean energy, energy efficiency, water, green mobility and the circular economy.
DEWA’s stand
DEWA’s stand at WETEX witnessed a large turnout of visitors who learnt about its key sustainability projects and initiatives. They commended DEWA’s adoption of the latest renewable and clean energy and water innovative technologies. Key projects showcased by DEWA included the Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum Solar Park, the world’s largest single-site solar park based on the independent power producer model. By 2030, the solar park’s total capacity will reach over 8,000MW (compared to the original plan of 5,000MW), reducing 8.5 million tonnes of carbon emissions annually, up from 6.5 million.
The stand also showcased the 250MW Hatta Pumped-Storage Hydroelectric Power Plant, the first of its kind in the Arabian Gulf region, with a storage capacity of 1,500 megawatt-hours and a lifespan of up to 80 years. It further highlighted the Hassyan Complex, one of the world’s largest seawater reverse-osmosis projects. The project’s first phase will have a production capacity of 180 million imperial gallons per day. The stand also featured a model of Al Shera’a, DEWA’s new headquarters, which is set to be the tallest, largest and smartest net-positive energy government building in the world.
114 seminars
Over the three days of the exhibition, DEWA – together with WETEX sponsors and partners – organised 114 specialised seminars, attended by a large number of experts and specialists from major local and international companies. The Delegation Zone at WETEX 2025 was dedicated to enhancing communication and co-operation between local and international companies participating in the exhibition and major government entities in the UAE and the GCC. Many MoUs and agreements were signed during the exhibition, which also facilitated numerous meetings between companies, government and private institutions and investors through the business-to-business and business-to-government platforms.
Raffle draw
At the conclusion of the exhibition, a public electronic raffle was held for two electric cars, with two WETEX 2025 visitors winning one car each.
