Water, Innovation and Energy Halls at WETEX and DSS 2020 highlights the latest innovations of the biggest international companies





Dubai, UAE, 31 October 2020: The Water Hall, the Innovation Hall and Energy Hall at the 22nd Water, Energy, Technology and Environment Exhibition (WETEX) and the 5th Dubai Solar Show, hosted a group of products and innovations of the largest international companies. Dubai Electricity and Water Authority (DEWA) organised the online exhibition under the directives of His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Vice President and Prime Minister of the UAE and Ruler of Dubai, and under the Patronage of HH Sheikh Hamdan bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Deputy Ruler of Dubai, Minister of Finance and President of DEWA.

The companies highlighted their advanced innovations that use smart and disruptive technologies to improve energy and water network efficiency, and enhance sustainability. The Water Hall hosted products that are flexible and light-weight. They also use less energy and are easy to be transport and install. The Hall showed devices that help decision-makers to measure and monitor the performance of infrastructure in smarter way by analysing data and automated meter reading. It also displayed solutions on water management, smart meters, leak reduction and management. It also provided automated systems to control and monitor field pumps, pipes and valves, analyses external data like water flow, pressure, temperature, water quality data and others. Additionally, there were also the latest water desalination technologies, water tanks, waste water collection, treatment and purification tanks. These tanks ensure the highest safety and security standards. Other solutions on displayed included advanced devices, systems and sensors to monitor leaks along the pipe networks, measure water level and quality, and ultraviolet water purification devices.

The Innovation Hall hosted wide participation from international companies, such as SAP, Itron, Samsung, Microsoft, and IBM, who exhibited an exclusive set of the latest innovative technologies that support and enhance the concept of sustainability, green economy and save natural resources. Itron, a gold sponsor for the event, presented its energy and water resource management products and services, and technological solutions related to the smart grid, smart gas and smart water that measures and evaluates electricity, gas and water consumption. Itron also showed its latest water, electricity and gas meters that are based on the highest international standards and metrics. The technology is based on remote meter reading. SAP, a gold sponsor launched a ‘Circular Economy Strategy’ for consumables that enhance trends and visions in support of the Clean Ocean vision.

The Energy Hall also hosted the latest innovations of some exhibitors, including 8 Gold Sponsors of WETEX: Abu Dhabi Future Energy Company (Masdar), Alphalink Technology, Danway, Emirates Transformers and Switchgear, Federal Transformers, Lucy Middle East, Oman International Telecommunication Contracting and Sunten Electric Equipment.

WETEX and Dubai Solar Show included 5 halls: Energy Hall, Innovation Hall, Sustainability Hall, the Supplier Relationship Management Hall, in addition to the Main Hall. In addition to hosting the latest products of exhibitors, the halls hosted 102 specialised seminars and discussion panels during the three days of the exhibition. This year’s 3D carbon-neutral exhibition, the first of its kind in the Middle East and North Africa, attracted 63,058 visitors from around the world. This is the largest number in the exhibition’s 22-year history.
